Discount Store Haul!!!

Man, I was so excited for this one. I made an online makeup order today (shhh its a surprise!) and then decided to hit my local Big Lots. I have a pretty nice amount of both high-end and drugstore makeup, so I am not snooty about finding a good deal. In fact, it gives me an awesome rush. So here are my goodies!

So here's my makeup stuff! On the left we have a Maybelline Cool Effect Eyeliner/Eyeshadow in On the Rocks. I know a lot of people don't like these, but they make a nice eyeshadow base I think, with primer of course. All those white tubes are lipliners and they are one of my very favorites. These are Revlon Colorstay Lipliner in clear. I adore it. I got 3 of those babies, I keep them everywhere. Wet n Wild Eyeliner Pencil in Black which came with the eyeshadow set. The foundations are both Maybelline Mineral Power in Light. The eyeshadows are all Wet n' Wild which were in a boxed set. The lips next! From the top left are three Revlon Renewist lipcolors in Heart Warming, Moistly Mocha, and Full Blush. The first tube is Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in Perfect Peony. I couldn't believe that was there!!! I love these little suckers! Next is Maybelline lipstick in Cool Watermelon which I think is lovely. & last is Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor in Forever Pink.
My swatches. Was I into pink today or what?

I am totally loving this case! Its from Alicia Silverstone's designs for Ecotools. This is the front, big inside pocket, but on the outside is a clear outside which allows you to see the brush that came with it AND the brushes it will hold! This will likely be my new weekend travel bag!

Hi baby, I love you!

Two Wet n' Wild Mascaras I've been wanting to try. Has anyone tried these? What do you think of them?
So I already have a set of these, but I have really thick hair so I picked up another set. Plus the hair pins they come with are awesome and I use them on their own. Conair brand.

Woo! So there it all is! Okay, not ALL of it, but I figured you wouldn't care what kind of dish soap I buy....or do you? Have any of these products? Want to see any reviews?

What I Did With Eyeshadow Fails

Okay, you know that rush you get when you get a new product? Ahhhh. Well how about when you don't like it? Boo. Normally, I return makeup fails, but sometimes you just can't. So what do you do with them? Throw away money on them? Leave them in a drawer to never see the light of day again? Give them away to someone else to deal with? Well, here's what I did:

So here is how I have fixed this! I bought this off Amazon (see below) and was so excited I got to work ASAP! First, I went through my collection. I grabbed colors I didn't care about, inconveniently packaged colors (ULTA I'm looking at you for putting nice colors in random sets without lids), duplicates, and colors with some kind of issue with the way it was made like it was too dry, too soft, or cracking. Next, I decided on what colors I thought would look good together and divided them up into groups. For instance, I had like 8 different types of blacks that were basically the same shade (OH ULTA!) and grouped those. Then I took so-so colors and added something special to them. Then I got out my sifter. I put the colors i wanted to mix in there and sifted it until it was mixed through and super fine. It usually took 2 sifts. It took awhile to do them all, but it had a great effect. Colors that had been unusable before practically became pigment jars. Here are the products I ended up with from left to right in my case:

So what do you guys think? Do you do anything like this?

Obsession of the Day: That's It. Bars

So I requested some samples of these bars, curious to see how much I liked them. We travel a lot and sometimes its hard to do that with fresh fruit, especially in the desert heat. So last night I ate pretty unhealthy (mmmm nachos) so I thought this morning would be a wonderful time to try these little babies. They have two ingredients: apple and one other fruit. That's it, thus the name That's It. , so I was really excited to throw it into my bag while I ran errands. So far, absolutely loving them, I know I will be buying more. They are vegan, kosher, gluten free, and have a low glycemic index. Honestly, that stuff is awesome, but my main concern was getting in my fruit servings, 100 calories, and 3 grams of fiber. Pretty impressive. The first one I tried this morning and the second as my afternoon snack. Ah-mazing. Nice and soft which I appreciate because then I didn't have crumbs all over my car. It tasted like the soft apple rings with pear (or apricot or cherry) and I can now officially say I am indeed addicted. Check them out online at . Have any of you tried these???

Konad Type Nail Image Plates Haul-Newbies!

First off, if you don't know what the Konad is, then read my blog all about it. Alrighty, so today I got my new nail plates to add to my ridiculously overflowing collection! I also have another set coming soon! Why do I have so many? Because to buy through Konad they are way more expensive! I get 20 plates this way for less than $20. I'm addicted! So here is my new set, to read reviews or buy them go HERE.  I am really excited about the next ones coming because they have really cute holiday plates! These were taken with the plastic film still on, THESE WERE NOT SCRATCHED UP IN ANY WAY. I did this so that there would be less glare. You can see removal of the film in the last picture.
NOTE: Some of these are similar or the same designs as I have on some other plates, I knew this before purchase. I wanted the rest of the patterns I didn't have so it was worth it.

You MUST peel off the clear plastic before use!

Anyone else buy these and absolutely love them?

Top 10 Award June 2011

Hey all! I have been given this award by The Unknown Beauty Blog to list my top 10 favorite products! I really couldn't pick my overall favorites(there's like 50!) so I did my favorites of this summer :) They're not in any specific order though, I was going to but man it was too hard!

1. Walgreens Brand Alpha Hydroxy Face Cream- I've been so addicted to this! I tried it kind of on a whim, but I haven't looked back since. I've bought other AHAs since this one, to see if there's a difference. There isn't. This is the best my skin has been in ages and THIS is why.

2. NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny- This has a cult following. I have 10 in stock since I'm pretty sure they're being discontinued. Do I need to say more?

3. Hard Candy Sheer Envy Perfecting Primer- I've tried all the face primers, but this has been my favorite so far. I live in a hot climate (like really hot) but I still get dryness. So between sweating and dry spots, this is the winner.

4. Stila Fabulous in Fiji Travel Palette- Honestly I was pretty skeptical about this...but I really liked the green color (see below) and the adorable case. Oddly enough I've used it a lot and I love the bronzer!

5. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Roman Holiday- Classic sweet pink. Excellent texture. NARS quality. Win.

6. Revlon Makeup Eraser Pen- When I'm doing my makeup on the go or when I'm experimenting, this is my lifesaver. I have one in my purse and one in with my makeup brushes. Great when OTHER people screw up their makeup too.

7.ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Midnight- My favorite marker type eyeliner, and Ilove the blue hue. I think it really makes my eyes pop. I love that I can wear it alone too, so its easy to do my makeup in the car. My best friend also uses this daily before work in HER car too!

8. Victoria's Secret Lustre Eyeshadow in Private Beach- Beautiful, creamy, and my perfect nude. I am never disappoint. I just swipe it on with my finger and fall in love every time.

9. ELF All Over Color Stick in Spotlight- My perfect highlight. Great on everyone too. Catches the light on my inner eye and my cheekbones. I have these little babies in all the colors, this one is just the most versatile. Golden peach comes in second for summer.

10. Urban Decay Ultraglide Lip Color in Heat- Long lasting gloss in a lighter red with gold flecks. It makes my lips pop and the gold is my favorite part. Its a statement color so I tone down everything else. It isn't one of those advertised as long lasting, but I find it is!

These are my top 10 so far this season! I want EVERYONE to do this post because I love to read them! I am specifically tagging  E's Beauty Blog , Princess Paradise , and Frugalspender19 !!! If you do this post please tag me and comment so I can see your post!

Review: NYX Glitterati Glitter Cream Palette

This is hands down the best glitter palette I've ever purchased. I have some small palettes that are awesome also by NYX, but never found a giant glitter palette I loved. First off, this is a glitter cream, not just loose glitter. Some people prefer it, some people hate it. Personally, I like both for different reasons. The cream adheres to where you put it (for me on my eyes) and tends to last longer in my opinion. You do have to be careful about creasing, like any cream product. You tend to have less fallout with cream rather than loose, which I appreciate greatly. If you do have fallout, simply use tape to blot under your eyes. Don't rub or you'll remove more than just the unwanted glitter. If you love glitter and colors, I suggest it! Its more than reasonably priced. I am not in any way affiliated with Cherry Culture, but it happens to be where I bought it! You can buy it HERE.

Check it out! Random swatches below!

Palette Challenge Week 2: Natural by Love & Beauty

I bought this palette from forever 21 online and have been admiring it ever since. After last weeks bright eyes, I thought I'd switch it up to a natural look. A lot of people are saying this is a decent dupe for Urban Decay's Naked Palette and I am going to have to agree. It is positively beautiful. They also have a smoky palette which I am planning on picking up with my next order for some dupes of the darker shades...and just plain pretty shades in general. So, here's the palette I'll be using this week, get ready for these looks!

Front of palette. I love the print!!!

A look inside. The mirror IS cracked, my dog fell on it. Don't blame the palette for his big butt. I think its a good sign not one of the eyeshadows cracked! They're pretty creamy!

Here are the colors up close. The swatches below go in order from left to right, up to down.

I'm really impressed with the quality of this palette! What do you think? How do you feel about this as a very low-cost alternative to the Naked Palette from Urban Decay? Do you have this palette?
