Etsy Spotlight: Witches Brew & Toil and Trouble from Nails By Laura

Happy ALMOST Halloween! I recieved these eyeshadows to review and have been saving them for Halloween. I mean, with those adorable names, how could I not? This is Laura's leap into eyeshadow, and I love it! Nails by Laura specializes in handmade & custom polishes...but she definitely needs to add eyeshadows to her list! Ready to meet this spooky duo?

Toil & Trouble is a bit more unique and I think its tough to tell the coloring without first swatching it. Described as a lime green, I feel it is more of a pale chartruese. But then again, I'm kind of sassy when it comes to colors. Like my husband says "Robin's Egg is Blue and Peach is Orange." Wrong wrong wrong but I get not everyone is as color-obsessed as myself ;)

Witches Brew is just my style, a shimmering purple and none of that lavendar either! I like PURPLE and it delivers. The shimmer is a superfine holo with glimpses of red, blue, purple, green, and silver.

So here's my full look! I tried it with black lipstick from Wet n Wild's Fantasy Makers 2011 collection, a berry lip tint I made, & my Wet n Wild Lip Duo in Passion Plum. I didn't realize I had grabbed 2 Wet n Wild products, but they both fit the bill so...

This is part of the Nails by Laura Halloween collection. To check it out, go here! These shades have accompanying nail colors too!For an additional 5% off, enter code STEPHLOUISE upon checkout!

Entiq Eyeshadow in Seduce

This is one of my favorite shades for Fall, a shimmering red-toned maroon.

 What I'm wearing:
- Seduce Eyeshadow from Etniq.
- Revlon Custom Eyes Mascara in Blackest Black.
- Physicians Formula Gel Liner from the "For Green Eyes" Trio.
- Revlon Photo Ready Concealer Stick in Light 002.

That is my Sigma E25 Blending Brush in the first photo by the way!

Spookfest Day 29: Wet n Wild Blue Moon + Nubar 2010

Let me start this off with...I never want this combo to end. I love it, seriously. Ok, the proof is in the pictures! Besides natural sunlight or camera flash, none of my nail pictures are edited besides usual.

This is 3 coats of Blue Moon from Wet n Wild, the Wild Shine Line available for $.99 at drugstores & retailers like Walmart/Target. I probably could have gotten away with 2 coats, but I don't like to see my nail line in pictures so 3 coats was required. This is a GORGEOUS deep blue with a striking teal (slightly on the greener side) undertone shimmer. You can tell in different lights.

Because Halloween is approaching fast, although its lovely, Blue Moon needed a little something to take it over the top. I reached for my Nubar 2010, a classic cult nail topper. This is a flakie that shines varying degrees of orange, green, and a yellow/amber shade. One of my favorites.

So, what do you think? Only 2 more days till Halloween! Have you picked your polish yet?

Spookfest Day 28: Princess Fairy Nails with Nail Art

So this was requested by my girlies in my pre-school. They wanted to see a princess-fairy look. So here it is! I used Sally Hansen's Color Quick Pen in Purple Chrome...because it was sitting riiiight over there. Anyway, I wouldn't use it with nail art glue again, it kind of...denigrated? Very strange, but it kind of ate away at it. The stars, flowers, & jewels were purchased on Ebay and Sally's Beauty Supply.

What do you think? I'm pretty sure they'll like them!

OPI Release: Nicki Minaj to Launch Limited Edition Lacquers

OPI Partners with Platinum Recording Artist Nicki Minaj to Launch Limited Edition Lacquers
OPI announces the launch of six new limited edition shades inspired by hip hop sensation Nicki Minaj, including a purple Shatter! Inspired by Minaj’s unique style, love of bright colors, and her debut album Pink Friday, the Nicki Minaj by OPI promotion will feature an array of bold hues, from neon lime green to pink.

“OPI is so excited to work with Nicki in releasing these six new nail lacquers,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Nicki has taken the hip hop world by storm, but her music is only part of the equation. She’s also become a fashion inspiration, noted for her daring costumes and hair color both on and off the stage.”

Nicki’s eclectic look made including a new hue in OPI’s bestselling Shatter coat a must for this collaboration. The purple Super Bass Shatter (a record-setting purple that “shatters” before your eyes) is inspired by graffiti art and works when painted over any dry OPI hue. Adding top coat takes Super Bass Shatter from matte to glossy in seconds.

The line features five nail lacquers in addition to Super Bass Shatter, ranging from fantastic pink, rainbow confetti glitter and charcoal sparkle hues to two green shades in lime and teal:

Pink Friday Kick off the weekend with this pop! of bubblegum pink.

Metallic 4 Life This charcoal sparkle flies with the stars in the skies.

Save Me I drove for miles just to find this silver-rainbow glitter.

Fly I came to win, to fight…and to wear this aqua.

Did It On ‘Em A lusty little lacquer that loves the “lime”-light.

Nicki Minaj by OPI nail lacquers contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application. This limited edition promotion will be available beginning January 2012 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer. For more information, please call 800-341-9999 or visit Follow OPI on Twitter @OPI_PRODUCTS and become a Facebook fan!

As the world leader in the professional nail care industry, OPI is committed to providing high-quality products and services to both salons and their customers, along with a focus on industry safety and innovation. Known for its exceptional formula, fashionable colors and iconic names, OPI’s heavily-pigmented lacquers are super rich, long-lasting and chip-resistant – offering an affordable luxury to consumers. So what do you think polishistas? I am definitely feeling Metallic 4 Life &  Save Me. Fly & Did It On 'Em I'll need to see because they might be awfully similar to some of my other polishes...because I'm a teal and lime green lover!

These eyeshadows are all from Etniq Minerals' founder Leah Patterson. She is not only super creative & positively gorgeous but a Holistic Esthetician, Professional Salsa Dancer & Creator of Etniq Mineral Cosmetics. Talk about versatile! These eyeshadows are so high impact that I went ahead and invented a new way to swatch them. For each color, there will be a direct form the brush swatch (as usual) then a lighter swatch. This light swatch was done AFTER having applied the eyeshadow on its own! So now you can see the highest impact and the lightest so you can see the multiple uses.
