Oscars 2012: Busy Philips

I love Busy Philips & apparently tonight is no different.Minimal makeup with fun additions like her shoes & earrings. Although this isn't the dress I would've picked, she's beautiful & rocking pop of color pumps. I will always be on the side of pop of color pumps. The whole look together? Hmm, not sure about that flow! I wish it had more shape with that print as well, she has such a killer figure!

I received a variety of products to review but I will first start out with the eye dusts. I am a hoarder of most makeup in general but my area of most delusion tends to be eye products! These are SUPER fine & swatched true to color. I love the packaging & although these are sample sizes I feel like I got a good amount to use over a period of time. The colors are all lovely with a similar sparkle & gleam. I recommend applying these using a patting motion as always with loose shadows to help avoid fallout! I want to note real quick how much I love the labels because the color title is similar to the color itself. I find that super helpful & wish more companies took the time to do that!

Jenda- My favorite shade, this is a cranberry/blackberry/red based purple packed with multi-colored shimmer.

Swag- An orange with hints of yellow with a golden shimmer packed within.

Charcoal- A medium grey with purple shimmer base. 

Titanium- My 2nd favorite,this is a gorgeous, multi-colored shimmering white based gray with blue undertones. Nice pigmentation & kind of reminds me of what a tiara smashed into an eye pigment would look like.

Anya- A yellow with a white base shimmer that reminds me of daffodils.

I Dream of Reenie- A multi-colored shimmering lilac toned purple that applies somewhat sheer.

Nugget- A silver toned light brown that comes off as a warm highlight shade for me.

Mani of the Day: Kissy by Sinful Colors

 Let's start off with if you have been reading my blog, you know teal makes appearances rather frequently. What can I say? I'm a mermaid at heart perhaps! This is gorgeous & although this is only 2 coats, I took a REALLY long time to capture its true beauty. Lots of colors to see! Please forgive my ring finger I jammed recently...ouch...

Kissy by Sinful Colors- A blue & turquoise base packed with micro flecks of lime, gold, green, blue, & teal. This appears both blue & green with flashes of a lime toned gold depending on the light.

This has been compared to Zoya Charla & I have to say I might even prefer this shade!

The formula on this is great. I did 2 coats so I still have VNL (visible nail line) but I've worn it for a week without chipping with no top coat! That's insanity for me! This is available at Walgreens for only $1.99.

Naked 2: YDK, BootyCall, & Half Baked Quick Eye

So I have been loving my Naked 2 palette but haven't posted about it yet! Shame on me! This is going to be a quick post but if you want to see swatches or a comparison with the first Naked palette, do let me know & I will put it together.

I used YDK all over my lid but noted some fallout because I was trying to apply it quickly. I topped it with a bit of Half Baked & then Bootycall for a brow highlight which I really like.

Final look with mascara & all was easy & wearable although my inner eyeliner is something new I'm finding I don't like. More on that in another post perhaps!

Review: Vitabath Body Wash in Scrumptious Vanilla Sugar

 If you remember back to my November Cosmo Vox Box, then you might just be able to catch on that I am in love with Vitabath. For that box from Influenster, I received the scent Pomegranate & Blood Orange which was citrusy, woke me up, & lingered in my bathroom which I love. When given the opportunity to review another scent...I said yes please! 

This scent is from Vitabath's Cupcake Couture Collection, basically a set of super yummy (calorie free!) scents! Scrumptious Vanilla Sugar is a memory scent for me reaching back over the years to all of those brown sugar scents I've tried. Haven't you? This is much less sugary though & has more vanilla to it for a creamier smell. 

All of Vitabath's Body Washes are sulfate & paraben free, something I've been leaning toward in both my washes as well as my hair products lately. I find I don't have to use as much of this which means it will last me a long time, something I often attribute to Philosophy washes. Although the fragrance is lighter, it has great lasting power which makes me want to try more of the Cupcake Couture selection. This also leaves my skin very moisturized & never irritated which is important to note as I have sensitive skin on my legs at times. 

Some other scents I'd like to try? Luscious Lemon Creme (from the Cupcake Couture Collection), Green Apple & White Lily (from the Fruit Fanatic Collection), Beach Blossom (from the In Bloom Collection), & Green Tea & Sage (from the Spa Day Collection). With enticing but varied scents, I find this entire line pretty exciting!

Physician's Formula Happy Booster in Natural

Physician's Formula has always been a favorite brand. From the eyeliners to gorgeous highlights, I am constantly picking up new products. Happy Booster was a natural fit for me. Hearts? Check. Pink? Yep. Gorgeous? Duh.

Basically this is everything romantic I've ever wanted in a blush. Okay, so it claims its supossed to make me happier. Honestly, it kinda does. I mean, hello, look at it! Who wouldn't be at least a tad smiley looking at hearts as gorgeous as these?

So now down to the nitty gritty!

What Physician's Formula says:
Ultra-soft and blendable blushing powder features a fresh and vibrant mix of blushing tones infused with a pop of color to create a healthy glow. Multi-reflective pearls provide a soft iridescence to highlight contour and add radiance to cheeks. First Impressions:
It is gorgeous. I love the brush included although I rarely use it. In a pinch though, it sweeps the color on my cheeks lightly for a natural flush. The packaging is beautiful & eye catching. Hello metallic hot pink! The hearts are so fun but most importantly each is a gorgeous shade. I recommend this for a nice, healthy glow. Although the photos detect shimmer its not packed with it so it comes off as more of a gleam.

Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Perpetual Purple Test

 So I have picked up quite a few of these eyeshadows lately. They are vibrant, super shimmery, & easy for me to apply. I use my finger then blend a bit with my Sonia Kushak blending brush. I use my angled eyeliner brush to sweep color along my lower lashline. I've photographed this on two separate occasions to test out & show you guys!

The first was a casual look that I wore to work. I run around a lot at work but I was also cleaning at home. Put it to the test! I didn't apply it as heavily just to make sure I could in the first place. I wanted to make sure a more sheer application would even translate & it did!

The second test was my husband's military event. I had to be there RIGHT after work so I had to apply it at lunch then wear it well into the night. Success! I did use Skindinavia's makeup setting spray that night but not heavily on my eyes. It wore great & I got lots of compliments. It stayed on through work then throughout the night. These pictures with my husband were taken at the end of the night!

I love purples so it makes sense I adore this one so much. I love the different shimmers in this which play off lights beautifully. I see myself reaching for this shade whenever I want a dramatic purple eye or as a crease color. This vibrant hue puts off a fab metallic shimmer and shine so its moved into my "Favorites" drawer recently!

 So my Birchbox this month was great quality wise. It wasn't as thrilling as some because I use my Beauty Blender rather often, but otherwise I was super happy. At least I made my money back right? Birchbox is my form of gambling...but with cosmetics!

Mani of the Day: Bare by Sinful Colors

So Bare is one of the newer shades from Sinful Colors that I was immediately drawn to. Bare is a nude with a rose hint that comes off great on the nail. I should've applied more than 2 coats, I see in the pictures it looks streaky unfortunately. I see this as being a great neutral addition.

Bare by Sinful Colors: A nude with a rose tone that leans more brown. 

Although you can see shimmer in the bottle, it really doesn't translate onto the nail. Much like Daredevil, it gives it more of a glowing, lighted appearance. I'm really digging this shade. Its also one of the few Sinful Colors has produced that is work appropriate!
