Nails: Revlon Heavenly Over Pure Ice Party Hard

So if I haven't talked up Revlon enough on this blog then they come out with the most gorgeously affordable glitter ever. When I think of square glitter, I always refer back to my indie glitters. Square glitters at the drugstore? It was a dream. When I got word this was coming out...snapped it up quick along with Girly which I'll swatch later on!

NEW Pure Ice Nail Polish Bottle Shots (16 of them, PIC HEAVY!)

While I may not have gotten every single new Pure Ice nail polish...I did get quite a few! I tried to grab shades that looks really original & unlike things I already own. The majority are clearly glitters (it IS me!) but I think they are going to be amazing for layering, especially with jellies. Many of these have diamond shaped glitter which I totally love! For only $1.99, these are a total steal. Enough chit chat, let's do this!

Nails: Comparing Zoya Tru & Pure Ice Purple Reign

So yesterday when I swatched Purple Reign from Pure Ice I mentioned that I'd be comparing it to a Zoya polish today. I am a Zoya fanatic, they pretty much always impress me & leaving me scrambling for their next collections. Is it any surprise I commonly hold more accessible polishes to the Zoya standard?

What I wanted to show with this comparison isn't the shade (duh, not blind!) but the "lit from within" quality. After wearing Purple Reign for awhile I realized I had another purple that was a shimmery sort of way! Zoya's Tru was from their Spring 2012 collection & I'm still in love with it. #1 its purple. #2 it has shimmer. #3 it has a perfect application. Here's my original shots. The swatches have 1 coat of WnW Fast Dry Top Coat.

So clearly, they aren't the same purple. Purple Reign is much more red-based while Tru is a bit more medium toned. I think this appears even more distinct because despite Purple Reign being crazy pigmented it is also slightly dusty. Such a complex shade! Tru always looks like it has copper shimmers in it to me but it definitely looks more golden next to Purple Reign in person while Purple Reign looks more bronzed. Both are opaque in 1-2 coats.

So? What do you think? Do you have any "lit from within" purples?

Pure Ice Duo in Not Now & Lightening Strikes

So when I recieved my Pure Ice Duo in Not Now & Lightening Strikes I was instantly excited. It may sound strange, but I love green polishes endlessly. I've had some duds here & there but I am normally giddy over them. Although this is a deeper green than I would normally rock in the spring, its gorgeous none the less.

Pure Ice in Not Now: A deep jewel-toned green with subtle shimmer & lots of shine. Seen here is 2 coats which made the overall effect opaque.

Pure Ice Crackle in Lightening Strikes: A super metallic silver crackle that seems to take a bit longer to crack. The overall effect is well worth it, I prefer these to many of my other crackles.

Now, I tried to be different. I thought "Crackle tips, why not?" & went with it. It ended up looking like kind of a messy french honestly. I can't wait to whip out Not Now for next winter, I think it will shine like a star. Lightening Strikes will make some more appearances this season, perhaps over blue? Hmmm...

Have you picked up any of these polishes? What are some of your favorites? I also have another duo coming up so keep your eyes peeled for that one! You can find these at Walmart.

*Product sent for consideration.

Left to Right: Sex Symbol, Magic Attraction, Sultry Diva, Art of Seduction, Sexy Siren, Object of Envy & Tru Passion.

I have definitely been on a glitter craze.... I'm sure you'll be seeing that this month & next! This is the Glitter Vixen Collection from Color Club.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Eyeshadows from Left to Right: Sugar, Brulee, Nutty, & Kitten.
Having flashbacks? Yes, I do have all of these, but I use them A LOT! Brulee is now one of my favorite highlights and I love Sugar in the inner corner!

Pure Ice Nail Polishes in Magic, Kiss Me Here, & Spit Fire.
Loving Magic & Kiss Me Here for Fall! I'll probably save Spit Fire for Winter or put it on my toes :) Isn't Kiss Me Here a random name for that lovely gray?

Look forward to seeing these soon! You know me...must rip out of packaging immediately! Do you have any of these shades?

Mani of the Day: Pure Ice in Risk Taker

Pure Ice in Risk Taker. Both of these with flash. I'd love to show you without, but its terribly dreary out! Without flash, it is much more matte and wearable.

I love this shade! A mix of gray and silver, it is less murky than my grays but also not as glaring as my metallic silvers. Unique and high shine in the light, I almost wish I had saved this for my Halloween special coming up in October... In fact, I bet you'll be seeing it in a design next month! What do you guys think> Do you ever rock grays or do you pass on those altogether? Will you be sporting anything like this for fall or even winter?

Dupes: Pure Ice Busted VS A Perfect 10 Power Up

I picked up A Perfect "10" Power Up because it looked stunning. Then realized I had duped my Pure Ice Busted unintentionally. I would say this is pretty much an  exact dupe, but Pure Ice in Busted might be a TAD thinner.

1 is A Perfect "10" in Power Up
2 is Pure Ice in Busted

Both of these polishes are lovely, but take at least 3-4 coats to wear on its own. I think I'll like it much better with a black or white base.

So what do you guys think?

Mani of the Day: Pure Ice in Envy

Another shade from my Pure Ice Mini Haul from last week! Well you guys know how thrilled I was about this color, and I think it turned out great. These pictures are without a top coat and I have been rocking this shade for 2 days, so some chipping was inevitable with what I've been up to. Cleaning, unpacking, coloring, playdoughing, and all that with my kiddies at the preschool isn't kind to a manicure haha. But, the fact that it didn't chip off in chunks (which I hate) is awesome!
Natural Light.

What do you guys think? Would you wear this neutral pinky-brown shade? I think I have a close dupe from Sally Hansen as well that I'll have to compare! Happy Hump Day!!!

Mani of the Day: Pure Ice in Gold Dust

Natural Light.
Gold Dust by Pure Ice was one of the 3 shades in my Mini-Haul yesterday and the first one I put on. Suprised by the name? After application, I sure was. Looking at the bottle I thought "Hmm, I love this shade but I would put it more in the bronze family" but then I figured it might go on differently. Nope. It actually got MORE bronze. Is this an issue for me? Nope, I shop by the color in the bottle and the application shade, not the name. However if you saw my tiny-rant about NYX and the way they name their products, then you know that naming products that are decieving to consumers kind of bugs me. I mean...what if someone was ordering this online and wanted a TRUE golden metallic? What do you guys think?

On the back of the bottle it says "Apply 2 coats" but I applied 3 and liked it much better. Really liking this shade, but sometimes metallics wear off funky so we'll have to see...

PS Noticing how short my nails are? Yeah...moving will do that to you.

Nails grow....nails grow....nails grow....

Mini Haul: Pure Ice Nail Polish

So back in Vegas, Walmart didn't carry Pure Ice. I had to get it online or trade. You can imagine how glad I was to see it here in Nebraska, shelves of it in all its glory. So we had to leave pretty quick so I grabbed the 3 that caught my eye first!

Left to right: Pure Ice Nail Lacquer in Rio, Gold Dust, & Envy.

Here's why these grabbed my attention in the beginning of September. Rio has one of my main weaknesses, a beautiful shade with a completely different sparkly undertone. This is a plum-pink with a vibrant blue shimmer. As I turned the bottle around in my fingers I knew I had to have it. This is going on my toes today. Gold Dust was the second I picked up, another sparkly shade, shocking right? It is a metallic with shimmer though, something I don't see often lately. Gold Dust is a lot more bronze than most "gold" colors, we'll have to see which way it goes when I apply it. If you have been following my blog for awhile, then Envy won't surprise you. I love these types of neutral pinks, not a brown but not a pink either. Something so wearable about them! My favorite shade like this, Sally Hansen Rose-a-go-go, was discontinued I believe so I have been searching for a dupe. This might be it! I actually didn't want the minimal shimmer in the Sally Hansen version, so I am VERY excited to try this.
